Edale Mountain Rescue Team Vehicles
2008 - A New DM2 (The Fourth!)
In late 2008, having raised the necessary funds thanks to the generosity of the public, a replacement for DM2 was purchased. The old DM2, after nearly 20 years service with Keswick and Edale teams was passed on to one of our neighbouring teams, Glossop MRT. The new vehicle was fitted out to our specifications and was ready for operations early in 2009.

2007 DM4
In October 2007 we were donated a long wheel base Mercedes Sprinter Van from South Yorkshire Police. Over the following few months this was converted into an incident control vehicle by a group of dedicated team members. When commissioned this replaced the control trailer we used for a number of years. The control van or DM4 boasts a built in computer and printer as well as radio communication equipment and more importantly (according to the search managers) a night Heater! As in the past the trailer was given to another Mountain Rescue Team, Teasdale and Weardale SAMRT for use as an equipment trailer.
2005 DM3
While the control trailer was often referred to as DM3, we now have a self-propelled DM3. This was purchased in summer 2005 and prepared as much as possible by team members to save costs. It has the same specification as DM1 the only difference is that the base colour is silver not white.
This vehicle was purchased with the kind help of Gordon Lamb
2004 DM1 "The Second"
Our old Land Rover 110 was replaced by a brand new vehicle in March 2003. It was purchased from Land Rover with the assistance of The Order of St John who had negotiated a lucrative bulk buy discount for Scottish Mountain Rescue Teams. Then fitted out by a dedicated band of Land Rover enthusiasts within the team. The new Derwent Mobile One.
The old Land Rover was given to Cornwall Rescue Group who refitted it and still have it in active service.
2002 DM2 "The Third"
On June 9th 2002 our LDV Crew Bus was replaced by a low mileage Land Rover 110 donated to us by Keswick Mountain Rescue Team. The new Derwent Mobile Two. In turn we donated our LDV Crew Bus to North of Tyne Search and Rescue Team who still have it in active service.
1998 DM2 "The Second"
The second Derwent Mobile Two, purchased by the Team in 1998. An LDV crew bus fitted out to transport six team members and rescue equipment. It was very useful as a control vehicle at the roadhead.
1994 DM1 "The First"
The second team vehicle, a Land Rover 110 donated by Severn Trent in 1994, and fitted out by the team to become Derwent Mobile One. We still own the trailer which has been fitted out as incident support unit, used as a fixed base for the management of large search incidents and covering events.
1992 DM2 "The First"
In 1992 we were donated a yellow Ford Transit van by British Telecom which was fitted out to become Derwent Mobile our first team vehicle, affectionately know as the custard bus. Later renamed Derwent Mobile Two when the team acquired a second vehicle.
