Fundraising - Recycling
Recycle your old mobile phones and PDAs to help raise team funds.
Throwing away an old mobile phone or PDAs is not very environmentally friendly. Some mobile phone batteries contain cadmium, and other dangerous and toxic substances. Once dumped in landfill sites, the phone casing corrodes and the cadmium can leak into the soil.
Edale Mountain Rescue Team has joined forces with two national recycling companies to help raise team funds.

Community Fonebak will recycle unwanted mobile phones which are then resold to developing countries.
PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants), Palm Pilots, Blackberries - in our increasingly wired world, the variety of communication tools available changes quickly. If you’re keeping up with the latest technology, our Recycling Appeal can use your old products to support our Appeal.
