Mountain Rescue Casualty Care Equipment
All the medical equipment used is useful, portable and simple to use in most environments. It does not represent a mobile "intensive care" unit.
Equipment that represents a technological advancement in hospital is not necessarily much use in MR.
Casualty care is continually changing, therefore equipment, techniques and drugs are under ongoing review.
Knowledge of medical equipment used is essential. The team only uses equipment that is regarded as absolutely necessary, for reasons described earlier. The list below is a summary, but is not exhaustive.
Equipment List
A standard set of medical equipment (Bags 1 to 4) is sent to the majority of incidents. This ensures that most medical equipment will be available at the casualty site, which is often valuable as initial reports of casualties injuries or medical problems are often not fully accurate.
- Bag 1 is the Main Medical RuckSack
- Bag 2 contains Entenox and oxygen
- Bag 3 contains other useful equipment for a casualty site
- Bag 4 is a Vacuum Mattress and a lightweight Fleece blanket
Additional Items:
